About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to work on technical projects supporting national security missions. You will join a cross functional team focused on developing, verifying, and evaluating designs for US Navy Surface Vessels. This is a full-time, paid position based in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
What you'll do#
- Perform customer requirements analysis and define system requirements.
- Design, integrate, test, and improve software products.
- Conduct functional and performance analysis, including system design and trade studies.
- Support the generation of technical engineering products using established standards and procedures.
- Create software architecture artifacts for complex systems.
- Perform integration and testing of combat systems, including simulation and live testing.
- Analyze data to provide recommendations for improvement.
- Develop data collection systems to optimize statistical efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to apply AI for innovation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited degree program in Computer, Systems, Software, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Preference for students with sophomore standing or higher.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Ability to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- A Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred.
