About the role#
Generac is looking for an Engineering Co-Op to join the engine team in Waukesha. You will work under the supervision of engineers to fulfill design requests and support the development of our power generation products. This role offers the chance to build technical skills through structured assignments and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
What you'll do#
- Create definitions of parts and assemblies using 2D cross sections and 3D models.
- Maintain and update CAD models, technical drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs).
- Design, test, and integrate standard components while evaluating effectiveness, cost, and reliability.
- Collaborate with manufacturing partners and designers to optimize basic designs for manufacturability.
- Provide technical support for assigned projects and participate in product development plans.
- Execute fitness-for-use testing and process validation plans.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS degree program for Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering.
- Working knowledge of Pro-E or AutoCAD.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work 15-20 hours per week during the school year and full-time during school breaks.
