About the role#
The Lab Technician Intern will support the engineering team in the development, testing, and validation of clean energy hardware products. This role provides hands-on experience working with engineers to build and test prototypes in a laboratory setting.
What you'll do#
- Support hardware testing, prototyping, and validation activities for the clean energy product line.
- Set up, operate, and maintain test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and electronic loads.
- Build cables, harnesses, and test fixtures to support validation efforts.
- Conduct hardware tests on prototypes under the supervision of an engineer.
- Document test setups, procedures, and results with accuracy.
- Assist in troubleshooting hardware issues and identifying root causes.
- Maintain lab organization, equipment calibration logs, and inventory.
- Follow lab safety protocols, including the handling of electrical equipment and high-voltage systems.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, or a related field.
- Coursework or hands-on experience with basic electronics, circuits, or electrical systems.
- Familiarity with common lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
- Proficiency with hand tools, soldering, and assembling electrical components.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
- Ability to follow safety protocols in a technical environment.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
