About the role#
As a Mechanical Design Engineering Intern, you will join the mechanical group to support the development of battery energy storage system products. You will work alongside experienced engineers and contribute to real product development efforts. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in North Billerica, Massachusetts.
What you'll do#
- Support the design and development of mechanical components, modules, and assemblies for BESS products.
- Assist with prototyping, testing, and validation activities in lab and production environments.
- Create 3D CAD models and 2D drafts under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, hardware, manufacturing, quality, and operations.
- Document your work through drawings, design records, and test reports.
- Take ownership of a defined project to deliver tangible value by the end of your term.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Environmental, or Computer Engineering.
- Foundational knowledge of mechanical design principles.
- Experience with 3D CAD software, with Solidworks preferred.
- Familiarity with 2D drafting and engineering drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a hands-on lab and prototype environment.
