About the role#
The Student Nurse Clinical Placement provides an opportunity to function as part of a hemodialysis health care team. Under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, you will support the delivery of safe and effective dialysis therapy while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements. This role involves active participation in quality enhancement programs and process improvement activities to support patient satisfaction.
What you'll do#
- Support the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines.
- Assist with patient vital signs, weight checks, and washing access.
- Participate in daily huddles and quality assessment meetings.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and disinfected working environment.
- Engage in process improvement activities and quality enhancement initiatives.
- Perform clinical tasks such as lab preparation, blood glucose monitoring, and medication review under preceptor guidance.
- Assist with patient ambulation and provide direct care, which may involve lifting and moving equipment or patients.
What you'll need#
- Completion of three quarters of an ADN program, junior year of a BSN program, or two years of a nursing school program.
- A strong desire to deliver superior patient care.
- Commitment to adhering to all facility policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including frequent standing, bending, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
