Student Nurse Clinical Placement

About the role#

This Student Nurse Clinical Placement offers nursing students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a hemodialysis health care team. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, you will support the delivery of safe and effective dialysis therapy while adhering to facility policies and regulatory standards. This role involves active participation in patient care and clinical operations.

What you'll do#

• Support the delivery of safe and effective dialysis therapy under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Assist with vital signs, patient weight, and washing access.
• Participate in quality enhancement activities and contribute to process improvement initiatives to support patient satisfaction.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment, including equipment disinfection and daily safety checks.
• Perform clinical tasks such as lab preparation, blood glucose monitoring, and medication review, with duties expanding based on the duration of the clinical placement.

What you'll need#

• Completion of at least three quarters of an ADN program, the junior year of a BSN program, or two years of a nursing school program.
• A strong desire to deliver superior care to patients.
• Commitment to adhering to all facility policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent standing, bending, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
