About the role#
This clinical placement offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a dialysis health care team. Interns work under the direct supervision of a registered dietitian to provide medical nutrition therapy while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements. This position requires travel between assigned facilities and local community locations.
What you'll do#
- Conduct nutrition interviews with patients to collect data for assessments.
- Calculate diet prescription recommendations.
- Provide nutrition counseling to patients and their caregivers.
- Assist in the development and implementation of nutrition plans of care.
- Review monthly nutrition data and practice writing progress notes.
- Create nutrition-related projects, such as education handouts or lobby activities, for patients and staff.
- Attend interdisciplinary team meetings and quality assessment sessions.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics, or current enrollment in an accredited Coordinated Program in Dietetics.
- Outstanding customer service skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
- Ability to adhere to all compliance programs and regulatory standards.
