About the role#
The Student Nurse Clinical Placement provides an opportunity to function as part of a hemodialysis health care team. Under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, you will gain hands-on experience in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy. This role supports the facility's mission and commitment to quality care, patient satisfaction, and process improvement.
What you'll do#
- Perform setup and operation of hemodialysis machines.
- Assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean working environment.
- Escort patients to and from the scale.
- Participate in daily huddles and care plan meetings.
- Contribute to process improvement activities related to patient satisfaction and quality enhancement goals.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least three quarters of an ADN program, the junior year of a BSN program, or two years of a nursing school program.
- Ability to provide direct patient care, which includes frequent standing, bending, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Outstanding customer service skills and a commitment to delivering superior patient care.
- Capability to work under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse preceptor.
