About the role#
This clinical placement provides students with hands-on experience in medical nutrition therapy. You will work within a dialysis health care team under the direct supervision of a registered dietitian. The role supports our mission to provide quality care while following all corporate and regulatory policies.
What you'll do#
- Conduct nutrition interviews with patients.
- Calculate diet prescription recommendations.
- Assist the registered dietitian in developing and implementing nutrition care plans.
- Collect data for comprehensive interdisciplinary assessments.
- Review monthly nutrition data with patients and caregivers.
- Practice writing nutrition progress notes.
- Create nutrition-related projects such as educational handouts or lobby activities.
- Attend team and quality assessment meetings.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor or Master degree in Nutrition or Dietetics.
- Current enrollment in an accredited Coordinated Program in Dietetics.
- A strong customer service orientation.
- A desire to deliver superior patient care.
- Ability to follow the FMCNA Compliance Program.
