About the role#
This clinical placement provides nursing students the opportunity to function as part of a hemodialysis healthcare team. You will work under the direct supervision of a clinical manager and a licensed preceptor to provide safe and effective dialysis therapy. This role supports the mission and customer service philosophy of Fresenius Medical Care while adhering to all facility policies and regulatory requirements.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines.
- Monitor patient vital signs and weight.
- Support the maintenance of a safe and clean working environment.
- Participate in process improvement activities and quality enhancement programs to support patient care goals.
- Follow all infection control protocols and safety standards.
- Perform clinical tasks based on the duration of your placement and training completion.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a nursing program, specifically having completed three quarters of an ADN program or the Junior year of a BSN program.
- Commitment to providing outstanding customer service to all internal and external customers.
- Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a clinical manager and preceptor.
- Strict adherence to facility and company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including frequent standing, bending, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
