About the role#
The Student Nurse Clinical Placement provides an opportunity to function as part of the hemodialysis health care team. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse and clinical manager to provide safe and effective dialysis therapy while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements.
What you'll do#
- Support the mission and customer service philosophy of the organization.
- Assist in the setup, operation, and internal disinfection of hemodialysis machines.
- Monitor patient vital signs and assist with patient care tasks, such as washing access and lab preparation.
- Participate in process improvement activities and Quality Enhancement Program (QEP) initiatives.
- Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain a safe, clean working environment.
- Perform clinical duties such as blood glucose monitoring, medication review, and assisting with patient assessments under the direction of a preceptor.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least three quarters of an ADN program, the junior year of a BSN program, or two years of a nursing school program.
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.
- Commitment to maintaining high safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work under the supervision of a clinical manager and preceptor.
- Physical ability to perform tasks including frequent standing, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
