About the role#
This is a transitional role for nursing students currently enrolled in an accredited program. You will work under the supervision of registered nurses to gain clinical experience in a medical surgical setting. This position serves as a pathway for students interested in pursuing a future registered nurse position with the organization.
What you'll do#
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, mobility, and feeding.
- Perform patient care tasks such as dressing changes, catheter care, and specimen collection.
- Monitor patients for changes in physical condition or behavior and report findings to the nursing team.
- Document patient information through charting.
- Prepare patients for discharge and assist with the dismissal process.
- Respond to patient needs and provide emotional support to create a positive experience.
- Maintain unit supplies and equipment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited school of nursing.
- Completion of your first clinical rotation.
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association.
