About the role#
The Nursing Assistant Student position is a per diem role at Providence Saint Johns Health Center in Santa Monica. You will work 12-hour day shifts. In this role, you function under the direct supervision of a clinical supervisor or a registered nurse. Your primary goal is to ensure patient safety and comfort while you continue your nursing education.
What you'll do#
- Perform close, continuous observation to keep patients safe.
- Monitor vital signs and assist patients with daily activities.
- Maintain a safe and comfortable patient care environment.
- Document all patient observation and care activities.
- Complete non-direct patient care duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited nursing school program.
- Completion of at least the first semester of core classes in an accredited nursing program.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association, to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
