About the role#
The Nursing Assistant Student role is an educational position focused on learning basic care skills for elders through a state-approved Nurse Aide Training Program. This role supports dining, housekeeping, and non-nursing functions at Providence Seward Mountain Haven during peak work times. You will work directly with elders, families, and staff to provide essential support.
What you'll do#
- Maintain a clean environment within the facility.
- Transport elders as needed.
- Assist with meal preparation and set-up.
- Provide meaningful activities for elders.
- Serve as an elder companion to promote safety when direct observation is required.
What you'll need#
- Six months of experience as a nursing aid, nursing assistant, or personal care attendant is preferred.
- Successful completion of Green House® Philosophy of Care, Caring Reliably, Culinary training, ServSafe, and Dining Assistance within four months of hire.
- National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
