About the role#
This clinical placement offers students the chance to gain hands-on experience within a dialysis healthcare team. You will work under the direct supervision of a registered dietitian to provide medical nutrition therapy. The role requires adherence to all company policies and regulatory requirements while supporting the mission and customer service philosophy of the organization. This is a paid, full-time position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Conduct nutrition interviews with patients.
- Calculate diet prescription recommendations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of nutrition plans.
- Provide nutrition counseling to patients and their caregivers.
- Collect data for initial and annual comprehensive interdisciplinary assessments.
- Review monthly nutrition data with patients.
- Practice writing monthly nutrition progress notes.
- Create nutrition-related projects for patients or staff, such as educational handouts or lobby activities.
- Attend interdisciplinary team meetings alongside a registered dietitian.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor or Master degree in Nutrition or Dietetics.
- Current enrollment in an accredited Coordinated Program in Dietetics.
- A strong desire to deliver superior care to patients.
- Commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
- Ability to follow all regulatory and policy requirements.
