About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to gain experience in public finance and banking operations. You will support the team by researching public entities, preparing financial documentation, and assisting with transaction materials. This is a full-time, paid position based in Omaha during the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Research municipalities, school districts, and counties to collect financial, demographic, and economic data.
- Prepare and update debt schedules, valuation tables, and financial ratios in Excel.
- Assist with the preparation of official statements and transaction materials like financing plans and closing schedules.
- Gather market data and comparable bond sale results to support financing discussions.
- Maintain organized project files and track progress on assigned tasks.
- Participate in educational sessions, networking events, and team meetings.
- Develop and deliver an end-of-summer presentation summarizing your projects and key takeaways.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university program pursuing a degree in Finance or a related field, with sophomore or junior standing preferred.
- A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Demonstrated leadership skills through student organizations, coursework, or employment.
- Ability to work on-site for the duration of the summer.
- Unrestricted work authorization without the need for future sponsorship.
