About the role#
The Compliance Data Enablement Intern supports the Compliance Monitoring & Testing and Data Enablement team. This role focuses on data analysis, reporting, documentation, and process improvement. You will work under the guidance of team members to complete assignments, ask questions, and contribute to tools that help the Compliance department use data effectively. This position is ideal for a student or early-career candidate interested in how data, technology, and process discipline support compliance oversight.
What you'll do#
- Gather, organize, validate, and analyze compliance-related data.
- Create and maintain dashboards, trackers, reports, and summaries.
- Identify trends, exceptions, data quality issues, or process improvement opportunities.
- Document data sources, definitions, assumptions, and reporting logic.
- Test and review reports, trackers, and automation outputs for accuracy.
- Use analytical and automation tools such as Excel, Power BI, Python, SQL, and Power Automate.
- Maintain data inventories, templates, and job aids.
- Participate in team meetings and project discussions.
- Manage assigned tasks by meeting deadlines and incorporating feedback.
- Maintain confidentiality and attention to detail.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or graduate program in data analytics, business analytics, information systems, computer science, finance, accounting, economics, compliance, or risk management.
- Strong academic performance or relevant experience through coursework, projects, or internships.
- Interest in the intersection of compliance, risk management, financial services, and data practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting, and filtering.
- Exposure to pivot tables, lookup formulas, Power Query, or structured data cleanup.
- Exposure to data visualization tools like Power BI.
- Exposure to basic data querying, scripting, or automation via SQL, Python, Power Automate, or macros.
- Interest in using generative AI and automation tools responsibly, including prompt development and output validation.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate professionally and comply with bank policies and regulations.
- Unrestricted work authorization without the need for future sponsorship.

- Locations: Omaha, Nebraska (FN Tower) or Boulder, Colorado (Iris Branch).
- Work Modality: Hybrid, with three days of in-person collaboration per week.
- Employment Type: Full time.
