    About the role#

    Webber is seeking a Field Engineer Intern to join our Heavy Civil division. This is a full-time, paid internship designed to provide hands-on experience across multiple project areas including safety, surveying, estimating, and field supervision. You will work on-site at one of our project locations to support our engineering teams.

    What you'll do#

    • Learn to conduct jobsite audits and observe site activities to prevent safety incidents.
    • Gain a practical understanding of Job Hazard Analysis and Hazard Safety Observations.
    • Apply proper Personal Protective Equipment for all field tasks.
    • Interpret construction plans and assist with setting layouts.
    • Perform surveying duties to track quantities and practice accurate conversions.
    • Assess the materials and man-hours required for production.
    • Communicate and coordinate work plans directly with field crews.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a 4-year degree program for Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering, or Construction Science and Management.
    • A solid grasp of construction math concepts.
    • Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
    • The ability to perform physical work in a field-based construction environment.
    • Manual dexterity to handle materials and tools on-site.

    Location & details#

    • This is an on-site, full-time internship with a rolling start date.
    • Positions are available in Atlanta, GA, various locations in North Carolina, and Hardeeville, SC.
    • We do not offer visa sponsorship for this position.
