About the role#
This is a temporary, full-time internship for Summer 2027 based in our Seattle or Federal Way offices. You will support project teams by producing drawings, models, calculations, and data sets. You will work under direct supervision to learn core tools and engineering workflows while contributing to complex waterfront infrastructure projects.
What you'll do#
- Analyze and design marine structures like piers, wharves, bulkheads, seawalls, and offshore platforms.
- Work with materials including timber, structural steel, reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, aluminum, and composites.
- Assist with plans, specifications, reports, and construction quantity estimates.
- Resolve design problems through field investigations and detailed design work.
- Check design computations and coordinate specific design aspects.
- Perform structural site inspections and prepare related reports.
- Support office construction administration by reviewing shop drawings and technical submittals.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, scientists, and project managers.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
- You must be entering your final year of study after the summer of 2027.
- Completed coursework in Engineering Materials, Structural Analysis, and at least one material design course.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Preference is given to Master’s degree students, those with EIT certification, and candidates with prior internship experience.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, SAP2000, LPile, Mathcad, or Bluebeam is a plus.
- Ability to perform field investigations, which may involve navigating natural terrain while carrying equipment.

- Locations: Seattle, WA and Federal Way, WA.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $28.00 to $36.00 per hour, depending on education and experience.
- This is a paid, temporary position.
