About the role#
This is a temporary, full-time Civil Engineering Internship for Summer 2027. You will work under direct supervision to support project teams on site development and infrastructure projects, including grading, drainage, stormwater, and utility systems. This role is designed to build your foundational knowledge of engineering principles and internal workflows.
What you'll do#
- Prepare engineering design documents, plans, and specifications.
- Create drawings, models, and draft documents.
- Collect and organize field data, reports, maps, and geotechnical or hydrological information.
- View, navigate, and measure 2D and 3D models.
- Follow established CAD/BIM, graphics, and file-naming standards.
- Perform basic numerical and statistical analysis and document your results.
- Implement corrections on drawings and files provided by your supervisor.
- Participate in intern orientation, training, and technical check-ins.
- Communicate task status to engineers and project managers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Civil Engineering or a related technical field (junior standing or above preferred).
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- A basic understanding of civil engineering fundamentals such as site layout, grading, and drainage.
- Exposure to AutoCAD and a willingness to learn MicroStation or Civil 3D.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Clear communication and a willingness to ask questions.
- Ability to pass a background check.
