About the role#
The Civil Engineering Internship is a temporary, full-time student role based in our Seattle or Federal Way offices for Summer 2027. You will support project teams by performing routine engineering tasks under direct supervision. This role focuses on building foundational knowledge of civil engineering principles and our project workflows through structured tasks, including site development, grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater systems.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the preparation of engineering design documents, plans, and specifications.
- Prepare drawings and draft documents under direction.
- Collect and organize field data, reports, maps, and aerial photographs.
- Produce basic drawings, models, calculations, or code using approved tools.
- View, navigate, and measure 2D and 3D models to support the project team.
- Follow established CAD/BIM, graphics, coding, and file-naming standards.
- Collect and organize project and operational data for analysis or model inputs.
- Perform basic numerical and statistical analysis.
- Document assumptions, process flows, and results for supervisor review.
- Resolve routine technical issues and participate in orientation, training, and technical check-ins.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in Civil Engineering or a related technical field (junior standing or above preferred).
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 preferred.
- Basic understanding of civil engineering fundamentals.
- Exposure to AutoCAD and a willingness to learn MicroStation or Civil 3D.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Clear communication and the ability to work under direct supervision.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
- Legal ability to obtain employment in the U.S.

- Compensation: $25.00 to $32.00 per hour, depending on experience and education.
