About the role#
Ferrovial Construction is seeking a Roadway Design Intern to join our Engineering Services team in Austin. You will work under the direct supervision of a Roadway Manager to assist with complex transportation infrastructure projects. This role provides hands-on experience in roadway design, construction, and maintenance for students or recent graduates.
What you'll do#
- Perform or review design calculations and drawings based on project codes and standards.
- Assist with project management tasks including schedules, budgets, and quality control.
- Help estimate bills of quantities and perform quality checks on data from sub-consultants.
- Evaluate alternative solutions while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Support project deadlines to ensure timely submittals.
- Assist with field observation work as needed.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or advanced degree in Civil Engineering.
- A BS in Civil Engineering from an accredited U.S. college or university.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings, and specifications.

- This is an on-site position based in Austin, Texas.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
- The internship term is rolling.
