About the role#
This is a full-time, paid structural engineering internship based in Muscatine, Iowa. You will work with our structural team to support the design and analysis of buildings, platforms, foundations, and various industrial structures. This position is for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Participate in structural analysis, design, and drawing preparation.
- Collaborate with structural engineers to solve engineering problems.
- Produce high quality design documents, plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Perform and check engineering calculations.
- Review and check drawings.
- Assist with field site visits for existing and proposed structures, including active construction sites.
- Perform quantity calculations and take-offs.
- Gain experience with structural engineering software.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Must be at least a college junior.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Previous course work in structural engineering, concrete, and steel structures.
- Solid writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work legally in the United States without sponsorship.
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, or Bentley Microstation is preferred.
