About the role#
Stanley Consultants is seeking an Electrical Substation Intern to join our team in Jackson, Michigan. This is a full-time, paid internship that offers exposure to professional engineering workflows within the energy sector. You will work as part of a design team and may be assigned to multiple projects throughout your term.
What you'll do#
- Develop an understanding of substation design fundamentals.
- Create substation physical layouts and lighting designs.
- Perform grounding analysis and design.
- Design conduit and cable plans.
- Generate single and three-line schematic diagrams.
- Work on DC schematics, panel wiring, and control building or relay panel layouts.
- Draft lightning protection plans.
- Coordinate with structural, civil, transmission line, and graphics disciplines.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a BSEE program at an ABET accredited university.
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing working toward a BS in Electrical Engineering.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Coursework or equivalent experience in power system analysis.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
