About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to support research on systemic barriers faced by Indigenous peoples when accessing mortgage services. You will work across various teams within Mortgage Services on a rotational basis to gain industry experience, assist with day-to-day operations, and contribute to business group initiatives. This role is designed to help Equitable Bank better understand these barriers and develop recommendations for serving Indigenous communities.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research on systemic barriers to mortgages for Indigenous peoples.
- Work across multiple Mortgage Services teams on a rotational basis.
- Support business group initiatives and assist with daily operations.
- Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements.
- Participate in meetings and contribute insights to team objectives.
- Develop and deliver a final report containing findings and recommendations.
What you'll need#
- You are an Indigenous student currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a college, university, or equivalent program.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to source research ethically and ensure proper citation practices.
- Business and financial knowledge is an asset.
- Excellent written communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and review your own work.
