About the role#
Personal & Commercial Operations (PCO) manages operations across RBC in Canada. As a summer intern, you will gain hands-on experience by contributing to initiatives that improve efficiency, strengthen controls, and enhance client service. Placements range from Centre roles in Personal or Commercial Banking to National Office roles involving strategy, risk management, data, and technology.
What you'll do#
- Support client and internal requests accurately and on time, ensuring service aligns with organizational priorities.
- Follow operational risk policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines to exercise due diligence.
- Use RBC systems to ensure the quality, accuracy, and completion of incoming and outgoing requests.
- Collaborate with technology and business partners to troubleshoot issues and identify root causes.
- Support strategic projects and initiatives as defined by the leadership team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program. Technical placements require studies in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, IT, or a related discipline.
- Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. Technical placements require Excel and experience with at least one programming or query language, such as SQL, Python, Java.NET, or VBA.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Availability to work 7.5-hour days, Monday to Friday.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid 4-month summer internship from May to August 2027.
- The role is primarily on-site in Toronto, Montréal, Mississauga, or Vancouver.
- You must be returning to school after the work term or require this placement as a mandatory component to graduate.
