About the role#
This is an 8-month internship for the Winter 2027 term, running from January 2027 to August 2027. You will join the Group Risk Management team to support the AML/ATF Transaction Monitoring program. Your work involves building and tuning solutions to detect suspicious activity and identifying clients who present elevated financial or reputational risk.
What you'll do#
- Enhance AML analytics solutions by incorporating advanced network analysis features.
- Develop new transaction monitoring solutions using machine learning and data science techniques.
- Identify and apply new technologies to improve AML analytics.
- Collaborate with Monitoring and Analytics teams to identify and remediate risk exposure.
- Present developed models and findings to the Director of AML Analytics using clear visualizations.
- Develop documentation and monitoring methodologies for new models.
- Provide recommendations on model performance and contribute to the identification of industry best practices.
What you'll need#
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in analyzing and manipulating large datasets using Python.
- Experience with supervised and unsupervised learning, network analysis, and NLP.
- Proficiency with SQL databases and GitHub.
- Ability to translate project needs into functional detection models.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Current enrollment in a program related to Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
