About the role#
The Group Risk Management - Balance Sheet and Liquidity Risk (GRM-BSLR) team acts as the second line of defense for liquidity risks at the enterprise level. As an intern, you will join a team that manages complex portfolios of assets and liabilities. You will help build AI and machine learning solutions to address real-world challenges in a data-rich, regulated environment.
What you'll do#
- Design, build, and deploy AI models, including large language models, to solve business problems.
- Collaborate with data engineers to ensure solutions run on a scalable, modern infrastructure.
- Work alongside business stakeholders, data scientists, and software engineers to align AI initiatives with organizational goals.
- Build data and AI tools to meet specific business needs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at a Canadian post-secondary institution in computer science, data science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python programming.
- Hands-on experience with AI or machine learning development.
- Familiarity with AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
Location & details#
- This is a 4-month full-time internship for Winter 2027, running from January to April.
- The role is based in Toronto, Ontario.
- Work arrangements include a mix of hybrid, on-site, and remote options, to be discussed with the hiring manager.
- This position is paid.
