About the role#
We are looking for a Mechanic Intern to join our Equipment team for the summer of 2027. This position offers hands-on experience working alongside our mechanics and technicians. You will learn to maintain and repair heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers while building a technical foundation for a career in the construction industry.
What you'll do#
- Assist mechanics with routine maintenance and repair work on heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers.
- Observe and participate in diagnosing equipment issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks to support optimal equipment performance.
- Maintain equipment-related reports, logs, and metrics.
- Follow safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a relevant degree or technical program such as Diesel/Heavy Equipment Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or Construction Management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Comfort working in both outdoor field and shop environments.
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States.
