About the role#
Emery Sapp & Sons is seeking a Project Manager Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position offers students hands-on experience in construction project management. You will work alongside experienced managers to learn the lifecycle of heavy civil projects from start to finish.
What you'll do#
- Assist project managers with scheduling, budgeting, and quality control tasks on active construction sites.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and progress reports.
- Collaborate with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and vendors to support project goals.
- Monitor project plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and track project risks while supporting mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate between field and office teams to keep tasks moving efficiently.
- Adhere to safety regulations to help maintain a secure work environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a technical school, college, or university program in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a desire to learn.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work well within a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Punctuality and reliability.

- This is a paid, full-time internship located in Kansas City, Missouri.
- The role is on-site.
