About the role#
We are looking for a Job Cost Intern to join our finance team in Columbia, Missouri. This position provides hands-on experience with job cost accounting in the construction industry. You will work with finance professionals and project managers to support the financial tracking of active projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the job cost accounting process for active projects.
- Support project managers and finance staff by gathering and organizing cost data, including labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor expenses.
- Monitor job cost data to help identify trends or discrepancies.
- Prepare basic job cost reports and metrics for internal stakeholders.
- Assist with data preparation for project bids and proposals.
- Perform routine audits of job cost entries to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain organized records and files.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a technical school, college, or university program, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Civil Engineering.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Basic familiarity with accounting software such as Viewpoint, QuickBooks, or Xero is helpful.

- Location: Columbia, MO.
- Term: Summer 2027 (typically May through August).
- Status: Full-time, on-site, and paid.
