The Quality Technician Co-op assists with inspections of purchased parts, subassemblies, and finished products. You will work alongside production management and quality teams to provide feedback on procedure accuracy and ensure adherence to established quality criteria. This role supports the production floor by monitoring equipment, documenting results, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Examine products and materials for defects or deviations from manufacturer and industry specifications.
- Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), laser trackers, and portable measuring arms using PC-DMIS and Polyworks software.
- Inspect welded joints for dimensions, bead formation, and defects such as cracks or undercut.
- Collaborate with Quality Engineers and the Quality Manager to establish best practices for quality control.
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data to provide recommendations.
- Approve incoming materials by conducting visual and measurement tests.
- Maintain and update inspection procedures, protocols, and checklists.
- Monitor critical instrumentation to ensure proper operation and calibration.
- Engage in developing and implementing continuous improvement programs for production processes.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a post-secondary program in QA/QC or a related discipline.
- Working knowledge of measurement instruments.
- Strong arithmetic skills.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate professionally.

- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $26.00 per hour.
- Status: Full-time, temporary co-op position.
