About the role#
The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Co-op supports the implementation and execution of safety programs at our Cambridge, Ontario facilities. Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, you will assist in ensuring compliance with internal standards and legislated requirements while contributing to safety training, inspections, and policy delivery.
What you'll do#
- Support the implementation and maintenance of HSE programs and communications.
- Act as a resource for employees, supervisors, and department management teams.
- Conduct and support the completion of HSE risk assessments to identify hazards and corrective actions.
- Participate in safety inspections, audits, and in-house ergonomic assessments.
- Maintain HSE signs, posters, communication boards, GHS labelling, and WHMIS binders.
- Support Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) requirements, including inspections and meeting coordination.
- Assist with internal and external safety training and maintain the training certification matrix.
- Procure safety supplies and personal protective equipment as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a University degree or College diploma program in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Public Health, or Health Administration.
- 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of applicable health and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in both shop floor and office environments.

- Employment Type: Full-time, paid co-op position.
- Travel: Expectation of travel to other locations within Cambridge; use of a vehicle is preferred.
