About the role#
The Supply Chain Coordinator Co-op supports purchasing, material planning, scheduling, and supplier coordination to ensure materials are delivered on time and cost-effectively. Reporting to the Supply Chain team, this role works alongside project management, manufacturing, and engineering departments to maintain production requirements.
What you'll do#
- Facilitate the release of direct material purchases using MRP functionality.
- Collaborate with project management and manufacturing teams to meet production requirements while managing inventory levels.
- Ensure continuity of supply and escalate constraints when necessary.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with supplier partners.
- Implement cost reduction strategies and manage cost baselines.
- Manage engineering change requests and reverse logistics for failed, suspect, or unneeded materials.
- Track and maintain daily dashboard metrics.
- Develop an understanding of products, the supply base, and associated technologies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Business, Operations, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Commitment to continuous improvement within the supply chain.
- Industry certifications such as CSCMP, CPIM, CSCP, or CCLP are considered an asset.
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems like SAP or Oracle is considered an asset.
