About the role#
The Supply Chain Coordinator Co-op supports purchasing, material planning, scheduling, and supplier coordination activities. This role ensures that materials are delivered on time and at the most cost-effective solution. You will work closely with project management, manufacturing, and engineering teams to maintain production requirements.
What you'll do#
- Facilitate the release of direct purchases of materials using MRP functionality.
- Work with project management and manufacturing teams to ensure production requirements are met while limiting on-hand inventory.
- Develop and maintain effective business relationships with supplier partners.
- Implement cost reduction strategies and maintain cost baselines.
- Manage reverse logistics for failed, suspect, or non-required materials.
- Handle the implementation of engineering change requests.
- Maintain daily dashboard metrics and develop an understanding of products and supply base technologies.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Business, Operations, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Commitment to continuous improvement within the supply chain.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- MRP/ERP experience (such as SAP or Oracle) is considered an asset.
- Industry certifications (CSCMP, CPIM, CSCP, or CCLP) are considered an asset.
