About the role#
OPEX Corporation is seeking a Technical Writing Intern for the summer of 2025 in Plano, Texas. This is a full-time, paid internship focused on updating and creating technical documentation for warehouse automation products. You will work alongside experienced writers and subject matter experts to document internal processes and technical information.
What you'll do#
- Write and manage content using MadCap Flare.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to update existing documentation or create new materials.
- Develop documentation regarding internal processes that you can include in your professional portfolio.
- Learn to write for mechanical and software technician audiences.
- Adjust internal documentation processes and incorporate feedback from training sessions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university degree program, preferably in English, Communications, or Journalism with a focus on technical writing.
- You must be at least in your final year of undergraduate studies.
- A portfolio containing at least three writing samples that demonstrate your experience.
- Familiarity with topic-based writing, structured authoring, and single-sourcing.
- Experience with Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, or similar software tools.
- Ability to research writing standards, work independently or in a team, and learn new technologies.
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on technical accuracy.

- Location: Plano, Texas.
- This position is on-site at the OPEX Corporation facility. Remote work and relocation assistance are not available.
- Term: Summer 2025.
