Technical Writing, Warehouse Automation Internship

About the role#

OPEX Corporation is seeking a Technical Writing Intern for the Summer 2025 term to join the team in Plano, Texas. This internship provides hands-on experience in the warehouse automation industry, working alongside experienced writers to produce documentation for mechanical and software technicians. Interns will gain exposure to internal process development, training feedback loops, and the operation of automated machinery.

What you'll do#

• Create and manage technical content using MadCap Flare.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to update or develop new documentation.
• Produce documentation regarding internal processes that can be added to your professional portfolio.
• Learn to research and implement industry-standard writing practices.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited university, preferably in English, Communications, Journalism, or a technical writing-related field.
• Must be at least in your final year of undergraduate studies.
• A portfolio containing at least three writing samples that demonstrate your expertise.
• Familiarity with topic-based writing, structured authoring, and single-sourcing.
• Experience with or familiarity with tools such as Adobe FrameMaker or MadCap Flare.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to technical accuracy.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.

• This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship located in Plano, Texas.
