Technical Writing, Warehouse Automation Internship

About the role#

OPEX Corporation is seeking a Technical Writing Intern for the Summer 2026 term to support the development and modernization of technical documentation. This full-time, paid internship is based at our facility in Plano, Texas, and provides exposure to the warehouse automation industry and mechanical and software technical writing.

What you'll do#

• Create and maintain content using MadCap Flare.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to update or develop new documentation.
• Produce documentation regarding internal processes that can be added to your professional portfolio.
• Learn to adjust internal documentation processes and incorporate feedback from training sessions.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited university degree program, preferably in Communications, English, Journalism, Computer Science, or Graphic Design, with a preference for Technical Writing.
• Minimum of final-year undergraduate standing.
• A portfolio containing at least three writing samples demonstrating your expertise.
• Familiarity with topic-based writing, structured authoring, single-sourcing, and tools such as MadCap Flare or Adobe FrameMaker.
• Ability to research writing standards, maintain technical accuracy, and pay close attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and work both independently and within a team environment.
