About the role#
OPEX Corporation is seeking a Technical Writing Intern for the summer term to contribute to the evolution of technical documentation within the warehouse automation group. This role offers exposure to the warehouse automation industry while working alongside experienced writers and technical staff.
What you'll do#
- Create content using MadCap Flare.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to update or develop new documentation.
- Produce documentation regarding internal processes that can be retained for use in professional portfolios.
- Gain experience writing for mechanical and software technicians.
- Learn to adjust internal documentation processes and incorporate feedback from training sessions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university degree program, preferably in technical writing, communications, English, journalism, computer science, or graphic design.
- Standing as at least a final-year undergraduate student.
- A portfolio featuring at least three writing samples that demonstrate your experience and expertise.
- Familiarity with topic-based writing, structured authoring, and single-sourcing.
- Experience or familiarity with tools such as MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, or similar software.
- Ability to research writing standards and practices with strong attention to detail and technical accuracy.
- A self-motivated approach with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Interest in working with cutting-edge robotics and automation technology.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site at the OPEX Corporation facility in Plano, Texas.
- The term for this position is Summer 2026.
- No remote work or relocation assistance is provided.
