About the role#
The 2027 Winter Internship Program is a paid, full-time opportunity based at the Office of the Executive Vice President (EVP) in Washington D.C. This role offers graduate students the chance to learn about development work and corporate management through on-the-job experience. You will join a multidisciplinary team that advises Senior Management on critical organizational issues.
What you'll do#
- Conduct comprehensive analyses of the project pipeline, including examining patterns and bottlenecks to build predictive models.
- Support the review of design for loans, guarantees, and technical cooperations to ensure quality control before Board submission.
- Provide guidance to operations teams on the application of Bank policies and regulations.
- Prepare operational insights, briefs, and presentations on themes relevant to the EVP Office, such as approval trends and project risk factors.
- Execute special initiatives and projects assigned by EVP Office staff.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a graduate (master’s or Ph.D.) program in International Development, Economics, Public Policy, Data Science, Statistics, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Graduation date must be after the internship period.
- Completion of at least 50% of graduate coursework at the time of application.
- Citizenship in an IDB member country.
- Fluency in English, with working knowledge of Spanish, French, or Portuguese considered a plus.
- Proficiency in data analytics tools such as Python, R, Stata, or Power BI, along with familiarity with SQL.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) from January 16th to March 15th, 2027.
- Must be a first-time participant in an IDB Group Internship Program and not a former staff member or contractor.
