    About the role#

    The Real Estate Associate I position is a rotational development program within the Supply Chain and Real Estate department. It focuses on building technical expertise and leadership skills in corporate real estate. You will participate in four, nine-month rotational assignments designed to provide exposure to various functions that support our operational and strategic property needs. This role emphasizes learning and skill development through hands-on experience.

    What you'll do#

    • Support real estate strategies that balance cost, risk, compliance, and business requirements.
    • Engage in portfolio and space planning.
    • Assist with real estate transactions and lease administration.
    • Support project management and capital planning initiatives.
    • Collaborate with teams across Supply Chain, Facilities, Finance, and Legal.

    What you'll need#

    • Previous internship or co-op experience at Duke Energy.
    • A degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Real Estate, or a High School diploma/GED with 4 years of related experience.
    • A Master's degree is preferred.
    • Coursework or exposure to real estate, facilities, project management, finance, or analytics.
    • Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without sponsorship.

    Location & details#

    • This role is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
    • The work environment is hybrid, split between home and the office.
    • Rotational assignments may require on-site support and travel to company facilities, estimated at 5-15% of the time.
