About the role#
This is a long-term, year-round co-op position based in Carrollton, Kentucky. You will provide process research and engineering support for the Process Research and Development organization. This role requires a commitment of at least one full calendar year while you continue your undergraduate studies. You will work on-site, gaining professional experience alongside engineers and chemists in a manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Set up, operate, and monitor laboratory experimental equipment and rigs.
- Conduct laboratory experiments and routine analyses.
- Collect and document accurate process and equipment data.
- Evaluate experimental results and apply basic statistical techniques.
- Assist with reporting and presenting conclusions.
- Perform first-line troubleshooting of experimental equipment and analytical systems.
- Support process development and scale-up activities.
- Participate in safety assessments, audits, and compliance activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve laboratory equipment, processes, and work practices.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment at an accredited college or university located near the Carrollton site.
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemistry.
- Minimum age of 18 with a high school diploma or GED.
- Ability to complete at least 6 credit hours per term during Fall and Winter terms.
- A GPA of 3.000 or higher is preferred.
- Ability to begin work within 3 weeks of an offer.
- Ability to follow technical procedures and perform hands-on work with experimental systems.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
