About the role#
Covestro offers STEM internships for students interested in chemical manufacturing. You will work alongside managers and scientists in one of our business entities to learn about our products, chemistry, and customer applications. This 12-week program provides hands-on experience in a research and development environment and offers a view of our technical and commercial operations.
What you'll do#
- Support new application and product development teams through formulation, processing, design, and material testing.
- Conduct lab evaluation projects, analyses, and trials to help with process optimization.
- Perform raw material evaluations and plant troubleshooting to improve existing products.
- Assist with R&D projects, including part design, reaction or formulation chemistry in the laboratory, and finished part testing.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor degree program in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer or Material Science, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Completion of your freshman year of college.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel.
