About the role#
The Software Engineering Intern will develop web applications from the ground up and contribute to existing projects. You will build responsive, single-page web applications and assist in developing backend microservices. This role requires a creative approach to building pixel-perfect solutions while understanding web strengths and constraints.
What you'll do#
- Develop well-structured web applications using modern JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as ReactJS, ReactNative, and Node.js.
- Collaborate with UX designers and other developers to build modular, reusable components.
- Work with experienced developers to build and maintain a scalable microservices ecosystem using Java and the Spring framework.
- Follow and promote engineering best practices.
- Learn quickly and contribute effectively in a collaborative environment.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Experience developing web applications in Java, Ruby, or Python.
- Proficiency with web frameworks including Spring, Django, Flask, Ruby on Rails, or Sinatra.
- Experience designing and building single-page applications using JavaScript frameworks.
- Knowledge of at least one client-side MVC JavaScript framework, preferably ReactJS or ReactNative.
- Experience building modular front-end components using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Understanding of web standards, cross-browser compatibility, browser rendering behavior, and performance constraints.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
