About the role#
Copart is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer Intern to join our team in Dallas. You will help ensure the stability and performance of our global data center infrastructure and applications. This role involves active monitoring, troubleshooting, and automation to maintain operational standards.
What you'll do#
- Monitor global data centers and application infrastructure to catch issues early.
- Build and optimize automation tools using Python and Ansible.
- Maintain monitoring and collaboration tools, including Datadog and Kubernetes-related observability software.
- Perform monthly security patching for operating systems and critical applications.
- Handle incident management tasks such as triage, tracking, and root cause analysis.
- Create and update standard operating procedures and system documentation.
- Coordinate failover testing for network and system infrastructure to support business continuity.
What you'll need#
- Experience triaging, tracking, and resolving incidents in production environments.
- Ability to perform initial impact assessments and classify incident severity.
- Strong communication skills to provide updates to stakeholders during active incidents.
- Technical experience with Linux, Windows, virtual environments, and automation.
- Ability to work as a collaborative team player.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or Cybersecurity.
