About the role#
As a Vulnerability Management Engineering Intern, you will focus on automating security operations and improving vulnerability remediation workflows. This role involves working closely with infrastructure teams to integrate security tools and develop backend solutions that enhance the organization's security posture.
What you'll do#
- Lead initiatives to automate repetitive vulnerability management tasks such as scan orchestration and data normalization.
- Design and maintain scripts using Python and middleware like FastAPI, GraphQL, and REST APIs to connect security tools with internal databases.
- Query and manipulate large datasets to provide insights into the organization's vulnerability status.
- Collaborate with network, systems, and DevOps teams to integrate patching workflows into their domains.
- Document and build automated security playbooks to replace manual processes.
- Assist in evaluating security technologies and applying frameworks like NIST and CIS to automate compliance checks.
- Monitor and respond to security alerts by analyzing root causes and technical impact.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on programming experience and a solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL database structures.
- Experience working with API architectures including REST, GraphQL, and FastAPI.
- Basic understanding of infrastructure operations, including network protocols, systems administration, and endpoint management.
- Ability to manage assigned automation projects independently.
- Strong analytical skills to identify manual process gaps and solve them through programming.
