About the role#
The Nurse Intern supports patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role focuses on hands-on learning and collaboration with the healthcare team to provide safe and organized care. You will assist with essential tasks to help the healing process and improve the patient experience.
What you'll do#
- Provide basic patient care within your scope of practice, including monitoring vital signs and assisting with hygiene.
- Communicate with the care team during handoffs and report changes in patient conditions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure patient rooms meet safety and compliance standards.
- Perform hourly rounding and interact with patients to build therapeutic relationships.
- Document tasks and observations clearly and accurately.
- Assist with basic equipment maintenance, including glucometers and scales.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program.
- Completion of fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited Nursing program.
- 0 to 1 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
- A valid CPR certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute.
