About the role#
This internship offers the chance to work alongside data scientists within the banking industry. You will develop statistical analysis, run queries, and work on predictions regarding consumer behavior, profitability, and marketing campaigns. The role is a full-time, paid position running for 11 weeks during the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Write efficient data queries for various products and customer analyses.
- Analyze, update, and compile reports on customer behavior and profitability.
- Prepare data analysis and reporting for the data science team.
- Compile analysis for marketing campaigns.
- Present findings and summary results to team members and business line leadership.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Preference for students currently in their sophomore or junior year pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Excel and basic skills in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as R, Python, SAS, or SPSS is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- A motivated mindset with a focus on applying data science concepts to real-world use cases.
- Ability to remain adaptable and resilient in various situations.
Location & details#
- The position is based in Kansas City, Missouri.
- This is a hybrid role requiring two days per week in the office.
- The internship runs from May 18, 2027, through July 30, 2027.
- Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
