About the role#
The Advanced Analytics team within Supervision and Regulation researches, develops, and maintains models that monitor risk to promote a stable financial system. As an intern, you will work alongside data scientists to support projects that provide insights into the Fourth District and the national economy. You will gain practical experience in research and operations while receiving mentorship from experienced professionals.
What you'll do#
- Build and test predictive models using machine learning, econometric, and data mining techniques.
- Create preliminary data visualizations to communicate analytical findings.
- Assist with projects through all stages, from concept formulation and planning to model deployment and reporting.
- Engage with subject matter experts on projects related to artificial intelligence and emerging technology.
- Participate in weekly team standups and project increment planning.
- Take part in leadership and career development activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 and at least one semester of school remaining.
- Technical proficiency in statistical programming, specifically Python or R.
- Experience working with large data sets.
- Ability to work both independently and within a group setting.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- A basic interest in learning about banking, financial markets, and regulation.
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
- Status as a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or green card holder.
- Familiarity with SQL, Spark, or version control tools like git is a plus.

- Location: Cleveland, Ohio.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Summer 2027 (10 to 12 weeks).
