About the role#
The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas is seeking PhD Dissertation Fellows for the summer of 2027. This program offers economics students the opportunity to engage in high-quality research and gain exposure to the scholarly work conducted at the Dallas Fed. Fellows work within the Research Department to support the bank's mission through analysis and academic collaboration.
What you'll do#
- Conduct high-quality research within the economics field.
- Collaborate with research economists, research affiliates, and visiting scholars.
- Participate in the academic environment of the Dallas Fed.
- Deliver a formal presentation at the brownbag seminar series during the final two weeks of the fellowship.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a PhD student at a PhD-granting institution.
- Completion of all qualifying exams.
- Status at the dissertation stage of your program.
- Preference is given to students who expect to complete their PhD in 2028.
- Ability to meet requirements for access to confidential supervisory and FOMC information, which is limited to Protected Individuals as defined by U.S. federal immigration law.

- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Summer 2027 (4 to 12 weeks).
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
