About the role#
Commercial Loan Servicing provides back-office support for commercial and business banking products. You will work with Sales and Credit teams to manage operational tasks including document preparation, loan accounting, and collateral monitoring. This internship serves as a foundation for understanding commercial lending and how back-office operations support customer needs.
What you'll do#
- Review loan submissions to ensure they meet regulatory and legal requirements.
- Prepare loan documents following internal credit policies.
- Interpret complex documents to set up new loans in the accounting system.
- Post loan transactions and resolve accounting issues.
- File collateral perfections and releases based on loan documentation.
- Monitor and report on collateral securing commercial loans.
- Conduct post-closing reviews to ensure documentation compliance.
- Collaborate with customer-facing commercial loan staff.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent plus one year of work history.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to interpret loan or attorney-prepared documents with high accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A four-year degree or prior accounting or banking experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of Federal Banking regulations and commercial documentation is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Kansas City, Missouri.
- The program runs for 11 weeks, from May 18, 2027, through July 30, 2027.
- The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- This position is paid at $20.00 per hour.
