About the role#
This is a paid, full-time summer internship for students interested in a career in commercial banking. The program runs for 11 weeks, starting May 18, 2027, and ending July 30, 2027. You will work a standard Monday through Friday schedule. This role is intended for those interested in joining the Ascend Program to eventually become a Relationship Manager.
What you'll do#
- Support relationship and portfolio managers with loan documentation, loan onboarding, and monitoring existing loans.
- Perform financial analysis for companies across various industries and sizes.
- Learn the credit analysis and underwriting process, including cash flow, loan structure, competition, and collateral.
- Complete a rotation through local lines of business, including Commercial, Treasury, Trust, Retail, and Community Markets.
- Join loan committee meetings for new requests and renewals.
- Attend networking and personal development events.
- Accompany Relationship Managers and product partners on client calls.
What you'll need#
- Current Junior or Senior status in a bachelor’s degree program, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
- Basic knowledge of the finance, accounting, or banking fields.
- Analytical skills using accounting and financial principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Genuine interest in sales.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.

- The pay rate is $20.00 per hour.
