About the role#
This summer internship program provides practical experience within the healthcare industry. You will work with the Spend Executive team to support the Northeast Zone in delivering cost-effective healthcare solutions. Your work will focus on driving contract utilization and optimizing supply chain performance. You will be assigned a supervisor to mentor your development, set goals, and monitor your progress throughout the 10-week program.
What you'll do#
- Support client savings, contract penetration, and supply chain performance goals.
- Communicate with clients and internal stakeholders to help implement and sustain Vizient solutions.
- Manage analytics and client coordination while tracking performance metrics and workplan progress.
- Identify and present cost-saving opportunities using internal tools and services.
- Analyze data to find product conversion opportunities.
- Collaborate with category managers and suppliers on product cross-referencing, conversions, and trials.
- Assist clients in the New York area with implementing and assessing product conversions.
- Apply critical thinking and problem-solving to address client needs.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in healthcare, finance, business administration, or supply chain.
- Completed your sophomore year of undergraduate studies or recently finished your degree.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyze and synthesize complex data for stakeholders.
- Experience or understanding of project coordination, facilitation, and planning.
- Knowledge of workplace ethics and working in a remote or hybrid environment.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship at $25 per hour.
- The program is remote and runs from June 1, 2027, to August 6, 2027.
