About the role#
As a Data Analyst Intern, you will work alongside actuaries on client and business analytics projects, with a focus on Medicaid Managed Care rate-setting. You will use tools like Excel and SAS to design and execute solutions for our clients. This role involves aggregating and validating medical claims data, creating models to inform policy decisions, and building dashboards and reports.
What you'll do#
- Load, process, and analyze healthcare enrollment and claims data to support consulting projects.
- Assist in the development of client deliverables, including written documents.
- Manage timelines for project completion using tools like Excel, PowerPoint, and Tableau.
- Communicate project status updates to both junior and senior team members.
- Ensure all work products undergo technical peer review and consulting review.
- Support client teams by combining raw data analysis with aggregation to assist with external reporting.
- Display initiative in research beyond assigned tasks.
What you'll need#
- Currently working toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, finance, statistics, or a related field.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.25 is strongly preferred.
- Interest in healthcare finance and policy.
- Exposure to analytical tools such as Excel, Tableau, SAS, SQL, WPS, or Python is preferred.
- Broad analytical knowledge to generate solutions.
- Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with others.
