About the role#
As a Tax Intern at CBIZ, you will gain hands-on experience in tax planning and compliance across diverse industries such as real estate, construction, healthcare, and manufacturing. This is a full-time, paid position based in San Jose, California.
What you'll do#
- Assist in planning tax assignments and participate in client projects from start to finish.
- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations.
- Build your tax compliance knowledge by assisting with IRS audits, tax notices, and trust, gift, or estate returns.
- Build professional relationships with client staff and provide responsive, attentive service.
- Maintain high standards for professional conduct and client confidentiality.
What you'll need#
- You are currently working toward a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills plus the ability to think independently and solve problems.
- Proficiency with computer tools, including Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
- Excellent research, analytical, and project management skills.
- A Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation is preferred.
- Experience in accounting or active involvement in student organizations is a plus.
